A little further

The Loop

This area is a 10-25 minute car ride to the venue. The Loop is the heart of Downtown Chicago. A vibrant area home to some of the tallest buildings in the world. It is full of eclectic eateries, shops, theaters and parks. The Art Institute, Millennium Park and the lakefront highlight the destinations in this neighborhood. We are big fans of the uniqueness of the Virgin Hotel and the Chicago Athletic Association hotel, however there are plenty of others to choose from.

The Gold Coast

This area is a 20-45 minute car ride to the venue. The Gold Coast is a posh neighborhood full of shopping, restaurants and old-school mansions that dot the area. A few minutes walk to the lake and the “Mag-Mile” area, this is a sure hit for anyone looking for that ‘Big-city’ experience. We recommend the Claridge House as a great place to stay.

South Loop

This area is a 10-20 minute car ride to the venue. The South Loop is a little further north and is one of the more recently fast-growing Chicago Neighborhoods. Here you will begin to see a lot more new construction high-rise buildings and the surrounding restaurants and nightlife that go with it. You can also find the Field Museum and the Planetarium nearby towards the lake.

Near South Side

This area is a 10-20 minute car ride to the venue. It is home to McCormick Place (a very large convention center) and multiple hotels and restaurants that support it. Nearby are several popular Chicago destinations — Prairie Avenue (historic mansion district for early Chicago) as well as Chinatown (anything and everything Chinese/Asian).

Other Unique Stays in the City

We can recommend a few other unique hotels and experiences that are further away from the venue, but still accessible via Uber or Lyft:

Longman & Eagle – A modern day inn attached to a Michelin-starred restaurant offering a few unique rooms. Located in Logan Square (a short-drive/long walk to our home); the L&E Inn is a 26-60 minute car ride to the venue, depending on traffic.

The Robey Hotel – A unique 4-star hotel located in Wicker Park, nestled among boutique shops, restaurants and one of the liveliest bar scenes in Chicago. This hotel is a 20-40minute car ride to the venue, depending on traffic.
